Making theatre: the lesson of a great master

The arrival of "Why?", a performance by the great director Peter Brook and his historic collaborator Marie-Hélène Estienne, offers an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of theatre and the work of the actor.

Brook's minimalism, already described in 1968 in his essay "The Empty Space", is a vision that has revolutionized the theater and is confirmed in its value with this show, almost a legacy on a great and fundamental lesson.

"Why?" is the story of the personal theatrical experience of its performers, three extraordinary actors, accompanied by a reflection on the survival of the theater in relation to power, in particular recalling the figure of Vsevolod Meyerhold, father of "biomechanics", killed by the dictatorship of Stalin.

Dying for the theatre: "Why?" The meeting with Hayley Carmichael, Kathryn Hunter and Marcello Magni will help us to answer this question.

Where: at the Dimitri Theatre in Verscio
