Andrea Herdeg

The dancer and choreographer Andrea Herdeg lives and works in Zurich and Locarno. Her professional training includes both dance and theatre. She trained at the Accademia Dimitri and the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance London (UK). Since 1999 she has worked as an independent artist in the field of contemporary dance and theatre. In 2002 she founded, with pianist André Desponds, the herdeg&desponds company (Zurich), creating shows that blend music, dance, and theatre. As a dancer she has worked in companies in England, Italy, Germany, and Switzerland. She is often invited to perform choreography for stage and site-specific productions such as the opening of the Gotthard-Basistunnel (2016) with director Volker Hesse. She is a guest lecturer at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste ZHdK and has been a lecturer at the Accademia Dimitri since 2003.
