Andrea Herdeg

Andrea Herdeg is a dancer, choreographer and pedagogue based in Zürich and Locarno. Her professional background includes both dance and theatre. She trained at Scuola Teatro Dimitri and the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance London (UK). Since 2000 she has worked as an independent dance artist in the fields of contemporary dance and dance theatre. As a dancer she has been a member of companies in England, Italy, Germany and Switzerland. Her work as choreographer includes creations for her own company herdeg&desponds creating performances that blend live music and dance, to great critical acclaim as well as multidisciplinary works, commissions for community casts and cultural and educational programs for young audiences. Herdeg is frequently invited to choreograph for theatre and site-specific productions (e.g. opening ceremony of the Gotthard Base Tunnel in 2016). She was a guest teacher at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste ZHdK and is a member of the teaching faculty at Accademia Dimitri (SUPSI) since 2004.
