The eighth edition of the Territori Festival will be held from 5 to 9 June 2024, bringing new vitality to the Teatro Sociale di Bellinzona thanks to the collaboration with the artistic platform ZONA'B.
This year, the festival will highlight the young art scene in Italian-speaking Switzerland, with forays into other realities. Among the main protagonists of the 2024 edition, the Accademia Dimitri stands out with two unmissable events: ‘Spring Fever’ and ‘La notte dei corti’.
On 5 June at 8 p.m., the stage of the Teatro Sociale Bellinzona will host ‘Spring Fever’, a collective creation at the end of the Accademia Dimitri's Bachelor of Arts in Theatre, directed by Swiss choreographer and dancer Philipp Egli. With more than 25 years of experience in contemporary dance and cultural education, Egli conceived this performance inspired by Stravinsky's ‘Le Sacre du printemps’. However, rather than focusing on the theme of sacrifice, He chose to explore the musical composition itself, turning the dance into a real concert. ‘The act of surrendering to this experience arouses spring-like feelings, but at the same time, the need to surrender completely can generate both deep fears and feverish dreams,’ Egli explains. This concert-dance challenges the audience to wonder whether a ‘Sacre du Printemps’ can come to life even in the absence of sound. Tickets are available at Fr. 28.- (full price) and Fr. 17.
Another evening not to be missed is 6 June, when the Lavori Individuali di Fine Formazione of the Accademia Dimitri's third-year students will be presented. ‘The Night of the Shorts’ offers a unique opportunity to see four short plays, each lasting 10-15 minutes, chosen from the best produced this year. These works represent a fascinating mix of study and life, surprising for their variety and expressive choices, while maintaining a common training path. Here are the titles on the programme:
