On Thursday, January 23rd, with great enthusiasm, the final presentations of the Advanced Studies Certificate (CAS) in The Art of Giggle Doctoring concluded. This program has been combining the art of theater with a very special sector: the healthcare and social field.

We are pleased to announce that three alumni have received their diplomas and officially joined the family of Dream Doctors at the Theodora Foundation. Naima Bärlocher and Britta Kleindienst, who are now working in Ticino, and Mor Dovrat, who will begin her journey in Bern, have completed this continuing education program. For them, this experience marks a new phase in their careers, enriched by the specific skills needed to work in hospitals and specialized institutions.

Since 2019, the Accademia Dimitri has been collaborating with the Theodora Foundation, offering an innovative and professional training program for clown doctors, or "Dream Doctors," who work in hospitals and social settings. This program not only enriches the artistic background of the actors but also helps build a strong connection between the performing arts and the healthcare environment, where creativity and play are essential therapeutic tools to alleviate the suffering of children.

The training course, which culminates in obtaining the CAS, aims to bring out the unique character of each participant, with a focus on adapting the artistic approach to the hospital environment and to facilities for children with disabilities. This certification not only recognizes artistic skills but also values the ability of the artists to engage with patients, bringing smiles and lightness to environments often marked by hardship.

We are proud to see how, thanks to this collaboration, the arts can become a key resource in care and well-being, and we look forward to following the successes of the new Dream Doctors. Their preparation and passion are a testament to how theater can transform reality and bring hope where it is most needed.
