Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM / 1:30 PM - 3:30 PMBecoming 'fluid' is what Nicholas Pettit and Corinne Rochet, choreographers of Pettit*Rochet, want to offer as research. Using the imagery, sensations and dynamics of the material 'water', Nicholas Pettit and Corinne Rochet explore the themes of breath, energy and momentum. Through this process, they develop a movement vocabulary based on fluidity and liquidity. Between improvisation and learning, alone or in company, the choreographers invite us to explore the movement principles of a wave, of a vortex, of a ripple, of ebb and flow. An approach that encourages and develops flexibility, adaptability and creativity.
Corinne Rochet and Nicolas Pettit
They have been developing very poetic and somewhat melancholic choreographic work in Lausanne (CH) since 2003. Under the name Pettit_Rochet, Utilité Publique, their creations tour in Switzerland and internationally. The material 'water' as a constitutive, creative and interpretative element where the space of transformation, adaptation and displacement is reflected, is at the centre of their research. Since 2001, they have been responsible for projects within MP(CH) - Cie MARCHEPIED(CH), and in 2007 they received the Prix de l'Éveil from the Fondation Vaudoise pour la Culture. The same year, they won the Aérowaves competition with the duo FIZZ. Nicholas Pettit has danced for many choreographers and directors such as Claude Brumachon (FR), Daniel Larrieu (FR), Jean Gaudin (FR), Stéphanie Aubin (FR), William Petit (FR), Gaspard Burma (CH), Nicole Seiler (CH), Arthur Kuggeleyn (CH), Philippe Saire (CH) (dancer/assistant), Pascal Francfort (CH) (dancer/actor), Christian Egger (CH), Jean Winiger (CH) (choreographer/dancer).
