Past event
I lie to the paper and then I can’t look in the mirror.
I turn my eyelids into fluttering hummingbirds, trying to erase the red of my eyes.
I paint my skin brown,
I want to erase my face, I want to forget my existence.
This being no longer has a name or identity
I am neither man nor woman
I’m neither a bird nor an elephant
I’m a liar who plays innocent to meet the expectations of someone I thought I was
I’m tired of being,
I’m tired of pretending to be who I think I am.
