Nur Giménez Villarroya

CONCEPT, DIRECTION, PRODUCTION, CHOREOGRAPHY, PERFORMER

Nur (he, them, mutant, 1988) is a Catalan performer and co-producer, with 15 years of international experience in dance and theatre. He has collaborated with Volkstheater Wien (Vienna, AT), Staatstheater Darmstadt (Darmstadt, DE), Landestheater Linz (Linz, AT), Staatstheater Saarbrücken (Saarbrücken, DE), Kaohsiung Center of Arts(Kaohsiung, TW), National Taichung Theater (Taichung, TW), Daegu Opera House (Daegu, KR), Národni Divadlo(Prague, CZ), Teatro Victoria Eugenia (San Sebastián, ES), Gran Teatre Liceu (Barcelona, ES), among others.

Nur holds a diploma in Classical Ballet from the Royal Academy of Dance and is trained in various dance styles. He was awarded ‘Dancer of the Year 19/20’ in Austria by the Landestheater Linz and has participated in acclaimed productions such as Johann Kresnik’s ‘Macbeth’, which opened the ImPulsTanz Festival in Vienna (AT); Johannes Wieland’s ‘Neuzeit’ (AT); Mei Hong Lin’s ‘Die Brautschminkerin’ (AT, TW); and Moritz Ostruschnjak’s ‘Boids’ (DE).

Nur has already co-produced innovative performances such as ‘Die Irrfahrt der MS. Florentine’, which premiered at the Schäxpir Festival in Linz (AT); and ‘Touch me Tiger’ at the Accademia Dimitri in Verscio (CH), where he is currently pursuing an MA in Physical Theatre. Additionally, together with the Kulturverein Spätschicht collective, Nur has created initiatives like ‘Bewegungs_Bar’ in collaboration with the Initiative Raumschiff collective; monthly interdisciplinary formats in collaboration with Landestheater Linz; Linzest 3000, a monthly YouTube talk show; and _salon Linz, a space for artistic self-expression. Through these initiatives, Nur provides platforms for experimental art performance and therapeutic art activities.

Nur also holds certifications in Phytotherapy and Kaula Tantra Yoga.
