Born and raised near Schaffhausen, Mirjam Gfeller is a true jack-of-all-trades. While she may not excel exceptionally in any single field, her versatility is perhaps her greatest strength.

At the age of five, after watching a performance by Circus Monti, Mirjam declared to her parents that she, too, wanted to become an artist. Her childhood unfolded as a mosaic of creative pursuits: circus training (with a particular fondness for aerial acrobatics), piano lessons, and occasional school theatre performances. Later, she attended a high school specializing in music, where she discovered her love for choir and ensemble singing. She traded the piano for the electric guitar, joined several bands, and further immersed herself in theatre.

Her passion for both music and acting naturally led her to musical theatre. She began exploring various dance styles and, in 2020, earned a place in the performing arts program at Stage School Hamburg. The leap into professional training marked a significant step in her journey, but as one of 300 students, Mirjam found herself wrestling with questions about her individuality and purpose.

"Why?" she asked herself. Simply enjoying theatre no longer felt like a sufficient or fulfilling reason to dedicate her entire life to art. What could she uniquely contribute to the stage? What did theatre give back to her?

Driven by these questions, Mirjam embarked on a journey to find deeper meaning in her work. After a few months in Hamburg, she realized that musical theatre was not the answer. Her heart longed for a more raw, authentic form of art, and the dream of realizing her own creative visions began to take shape.

Faced with the challenge of choosing a discipline, she ultimately decided not to choose at all, opting instead to become a multidisciplinary artist. This decision brought her to the Accademia Dimitri, where she embraced the freedom to experiment and blend artistic forms. Here, Mirjam discovered that the question "Who am I?" would remain a lifelong exploration.

In the summer of 2024, she took on her first professional ensemble role as the daughter in Around the World in 80 Days at the open-air theatre in Kleinandelfingen, an experience that marked another milestone in her artistic journey.

Beyond the arts, Mirjam enjoys knitting and growing tomatoes—activities pursued with varying degrees of success, but always with enthusiasm.
